Drive the adoption of our new product : transform complex customer challenges into strategic AI architectures.

At Vooban, we don’t just deliver AI solutions: we help organizations learn to build, run and evolve them on their own.

A Canadian leader in applied artificial intelligence, Vooban supports large institutions in their technological transformation by sharing what already makes us strong: applied AI, agentic architectures and the industrialization of software development.

Our role isn’t only to deliver advanced systems, but also to pass on our know-how. We help our partners’ teams adopt the methods, architectures and practices that let them make full use of AI in their technology processes.

Joining Vooban means joining a team of experts who build advanced AI systems while helping the teams around them grow their skills. If you love building as much as teaching, and innovating as much as helping the teams you work with move forward, you’ll find a unique environment at Vooban.

The role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you bridge Vooban’s agentic product and the reality of one of our strategic clients. Rather than delivering a generic solution and waiting for it to adapt to the client’s environment on its own, you go into the field, understand their workflows and shape the deployment around their real constraints. You see that a compliance process is blocking the adoption of an agent, so you adjust the context and the structure of its inputs before it becomes a problem; you sense that a client team is afraid of losing control to an agent, so you build the training that takes them from doing the work to supervising it. You work in a tight loop with the developers, the Product team and the other members of your Forward Deployed Team (FDT), and directly with the client’s stakeholders, from the executive level to the field.

You will therefore act as deployment strategist, coach and change facilitator all at once, guiding client teams toward real adoption of the solutions rather than a mere go-live. The success of your work is measured by that adoption in the field, not only by the technical delivery.

You operate at the heart of a strategic partnership with one of our clients, in a new role whose scope keeps being refined as the FDT learns from the field. Nobody dictates the roadmap to you: you assess the client team’s maturity, make the technical trade-offs with the developers and decide where to focus first. It’s an environment for people who find ambiguity energizing rather than uncomfortable, and who enjoy explaining an architecture choice to an executive as much as debating a knowledge base engine with a developer.

The stakes are high: what you build here, in this demanding context, is meant to make its way into the Product backlog and benefit all of Vooban’s clients.

What you’ll do

  • Design and run discovery and technical workshops with the client’s stakeholders (executive, operational and technical levels).
  • Understand and map complex processes and workflows to identify opportunities for agentization and for deploying solutions that meet the client’s needs.
  • Define the context engineering of each agent: structure the expected inputs and outputs (machine readable) by getting the information from the right people, developers and non-developers alike.
  • Design roadmaps and strategies to deploy, adapt and customize Vooban’s product to each client’s technology environment (mostly on-prem deployments, sometimes SaaS).
  • Step in ahead of Product releases to anticipate how they will fit the client’s environment, and afterwards to follow the deployment strategies and measure their impact.
  • Working with the developers, identify the relevant technical alternatives, their pros, cons and risks, and make the trade-offs with the client (e.g. choosing a knowledge base engine in a high-compliance context).
  • Equip client teams through webinars, training programs and co-developed content, as a coach and trainer.
  • Assess the client teams’ maturity, needs, resistance and fears, and propose strategies to move them from the role of doer to the role of agent supervisor.
  • Drive the feedback loop to Product: when an agent built for one client has broader reach, propose adding it to the Product backlog so that every client benefits.
  • Work closely with the other members of the FDT, Product, GTM, Customer Success and the Agent Dev teams.
  • Master AI tools and proactively build them into your work, showing interest and initiative to get the most out of them.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong technical skills combined with real versatility: the product is designed to be platform-agnostic (GitHub Copilot, AWS Bedrock, Claude/Anthropic).
  • Knowledge of agentic systems and modern AI ecosystems (LLM, RAG, agent orchestration).
  • Knowledge of on-prem deployment contexts and the governance, security and compliance issues that come with them.
  • Bilingual in French and English (required: technical exchanges with a wide range of audiences).

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 10 years of experience in digital transformation.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on technical experience in software development, systems engineering or solution architecture.
  • Proven experience deploying technical solutions in complex client settings.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (finance, insurance, health): an asset.
  • Comfort in a regulated environment: an asset.

Soft skills

  • Ability to navigate the ambiguity of a new role whose scope is still being refined.
  • Business curiosity: a genuine interest in understanding the client’s business before proposing a solution.
  • Empathy and active listening with non-developer profiles (managers, executives, field teams).
  • A coaching and facilitation mindset when guiding change.
  • Communication tailored to the audience: expected of everyone, with a higher bar for explaining technical choices to executives.
